| Popis | This paper examines the importance of paralinguistic phenomena in live sports commentary, highlighting their impact on the dynamics and emotional connection between commentators and viewers. The aim is to analyse the use of paralinguistic phenomena such as vocal intensity, speech rate, phrasing, fluency and intonation, and their contribution to the overall viewer experience. The paper consists of a theoretical part, which introduces paralinguistics, and a practical analysis of the commentaries of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The examined material includes Polish football broadcasts, and the aim of the paper is to show how paralinguistic phenomena affect the quality of commentary and the perception of sporting events. |
