| Popis | Assessing the credibility of statements made by individuals is a highly complex psychological and interdisciplinary issue. The connection between this issue and the law is evident, as evidence is also assessed in terms of its credibility when applying the law. This is the case, for example, when evaluating the statements of persons questioned in criminal, civil, or administrative proceedings. Assessing the credibility of a statement is of decisive importance from a legal point of view. In legal terms, authorized entities have their own procedures for this, as set out in procedural legislation. However, they also draw on knowledge from other scientific disciplines. It is therefore important to point out the psychological problems involved in constructing credibility, the indicators of credibility (or lack thereof), as well as the explicit procedures and methods of the psychological assessment of credibility itself that come into play. |
