Popis Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main psychoactive component of Cannabis sativa and a ligand of the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2. These G-protein-coupled receptors are part of the endocannabinoid system, which regulates a wide array of physiological processes. Although THC and its analogues exhibits a wide range of biological activities through its interaction with cannabinoid receptors, their clinical use is limited by poor water solubility, psychoactive side effects, and insufficient receptor selectivity [2]. Chemical modification of the THC structure represents a promising strategy to overcome these limitations and generate new compounds with improved pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles. The introduction of amino group offers multiple advantages: increased solubility, the ability for salt formation, better receptor interaction via hydrogen bonding or electrostatic forces, and access to a broad range of further derivatization.
