| Popis | Over the past three decades, we have witnessed attempts to conceptualize Post-Yugoslav literature as a distinct transnational category within the system of South Slavic literatures. A relatively large number of works by literary scholars, critics, and essayists on this topic repeatedly raise the question of continuity between the former Yugoslav literary field and Post-Yugoslav literature. Is it a continuation of Yugoslav literature, or a completely new literary-historical phenomenon? Is Post-Yugoslav literature the result of continuity or discontinuity in relation to earlier literary processes and reflections on the complex of South Slavic literatures? The answers to these questions in the discussions to date are characterized by a relatively high degree of nuance. The aim of this paper is therefore to critically evaluate and systematize existing approaches to the topic, which has marked contemporary literary conceptualizations in the post-Yugoslav space, on the basis of a comparative analysis. |
