| Popis | The study presented in this paper aims to compare written productions in a school context by Italian and Ticinese students from the perspective of modal alternation. Particular attention will be given to complement clauses governed by factive and semi-factive predicates, a context often overlooked by both specialized and school grammars. A detailed observation of a point in the system that is not only subject to (socio)linguistic variation but also not clearly codified by grammars will make it possible to highlight whether the two populations under analysis are developing a shared norm that is convergent or divergent. |
