Popis Contemporary molecular diagnostics is based on DNA analysis. Many enzymes are utilised in these processes. Immobilization of enzymes on solid supports enables a simple removal of enzymes from the reaction mixture. A rapid and simle separation of immobilized enzymes can be achieved using magnetic carriers. The use of immobilized enzymes was demonstrated in the following applications: digestion of high-weight RNA using immobilized RNase A before chromatographic purification of plasmid DNA, digestion of RNA during the preparation of prokaryotic and eukaryotic chromosomal DNA using immobilized RNase A, digestion of chromosomal or viral DNAs using immobilized DNase I, introduction of single- or double- stranded nicks into the plasmid DNAs using immobilized DNase I.
