| Popis | The frontal cross-bite belongs to the group of progenic anomalies and is characterized by reversed bite of 1 to 4 incisors and offen by dominating lower third of the face. Most offen the anomaly occurs during the first phase of teeth exchange, and the aethiology of this problem can be either skeletal or dental. As a result of long-term persistence of this problem a fixation or limited growth of maxilla may occur. The therapy to be used is interceptive, using methods that remove anomalies and try to reduce or eliminate the need of further therapy. Case report: An 8 yr old boy attended our department with reversed bite of all 4 incisors. The patient had characteristic profile with prominent lower lip and chin. We used fixed orthodontical appliances, Edge to edge bite was registered after 3 weeks, overjet 1mm after 5 weeks. The appliance was removed after 4 months of therapy with resolution of frontal cross-bite. |
