Popis Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder manifested by reading difficulties such as errors in spelling and decoding words. Nowadays, a large amount of information is presented in the text form, which complicates reading and its comprehension and consequently impedes the expansion of vocabulary and further education, including the social and emotional development of an individual. Several theories that try to explain dyslexia are related to the visual perception and eye movements (e.g., magnocellular theory or cerebellar theory) of dyslexic readers while reading the text. A detailed analysis of eye movements can be achieved via eye-tracking. The main aim of this paper is to present an overview of empirical research studies related to the topic of eye movements in dyslexic children while reading a text. The studies included in the overview are selected based on the following categories: study objectives and methodology, research tools used, and conclusions of these publications. The main goal of this overview is to focus on eye movement analysis in dyslexic pupils and present to the teachers and practitioners the possibilities of eye-tracking usage in the field of dyslexia research which can lead to improvement in education and teaching of pupils with reading disabilities.
