Popis Cultural heritage in a local and global perspective has a significant impact on the overall development of local communities as well as of the whole regions. The authors remind the sociological concept of culture, the importance of culture for society and for the identity of the individual. Culture is a product and expression of a particular social body, and at the same time it is the condition for its development. In common sense, culture is often understood very narrowly only as an aesthetic area. However, the sociological concept of culture is considerably wider and includes the sum of all the material and intellectual results of human activity. The text focuses on the current effects of globalization on culture. It represents the economization of culture in the so-called consumer society. Cultural globalization leads to intensification of contact between cultures, to diffuse dissemination of cultural phenomena and to cultural exchange. The development of transport has increased the possibilities of movement, which has contributed to international migration. The authors demonstrate the effects of globalization on local culture on the example of a case study that documents the mixing of local and global elements and their interaction in a regionally, temporally and spatially delimited cultural system.
